About Program Director/Swim Instructor Anitra Fulton

Anitra Fulton was born April 7th of 1977.  She moved from her hometown Columbia, South Carolina to Oak Ridge, North Carolina at the age of 16 with
her 3 siblings and parents.  After Graduating from Greensboro Technical College in 2000 with an Associate Degree in Emergency Medical
Science/Paramedic, she attended two years at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro as a Biology/Pre-Med student.  During her college years, she
met and later married Michael Fulton (September 2003).  In February 2005, they welcomed their son Liam into their family.  The three of them reside in
High Point with their 2 dogs Luke and Toby.  Anitra enjoys life as a mom and hopes to continuing growing her family.  Liam has been swimming with Anitra
since he was 4 months old. Anitra is expecting her second child in November 2008.  Anitra's swimming experiences first began at 6 months of age, when
her parents took her to her first water-babies class.  Her mother was determined that all her children would be strong swimmer's for life, so Anitra
continued taking swim lessons until the end of her grade school years.  People find it most surprising that Anitra was a beach life guard in Myrtle Beach,
Sc in her early 20's.  She also went on to achieve certifications in life guarding, CPR, swim instructing, aquatic therapy/water exercise instructing and USA
coaching.  She has been teaching year round swim lessons for almost 13 years.  Anitra is the Programs Director and developer of Swim Fanatics, Inc.

About Swim Instructor Lia Carroll

Lia Carroll was born October 20, 1981 in Denver, CO but grew up in a small town just west of Worcester, MA. Lia graduated from Wachusett Regional
High School in Holden, Ma in 2000. She spent 2 years undergraduate at University of Massachusetts studying pre-nursing before moving to North Carolina
in August of 2002. She attended the University of North Carolina for 2 years and then took a job with Guilford Metro 9-1-1 as an Emergency
Communication Specialist or 9-1-1 Dispatcher. She now owns a house in High Point and is spending her off days happily tackling home improvement projects.
Lia has been in the water as long as she can remember. Her mother is a trained Lifeguard Instructor Trainer as well as a Water Safety Instructor Trainer
and has been teaching swimming as a career since Lia can remember.  So, she has been in the water since before she could walk.  Lia was certified as a
Lifeguard at 15 years old and as a Water Safety Instructor at 18. While at UMASS, Lia was an instructor for both beginner and intermediate swimming, a
credit course offered through the university. One of the most rewarding times she had as a teacher was watching every one of her beginner students
swim a lap at the end of the semester one year. That class was made up of international students, many of whom did not speak English or have any prior
exposure to water! Since then, Lia has instructed at many area pool facilities in our area, bringing quality instruction to the triad. Lia has also recently
achieved one of her goals, to become a lifeguard trainer. She believes that putting safety conscious, responsible, well trained lifeguards into the workforce
is the first step to enhancing water safety around the Triad
.

About Assistant Coach Ed Gomez

Edgardo Gomez was born May 13, 1972 in Mexico City, Mexico.  At 15 days old, Ed and his family moved to the coastal area of Acapulco. He grew up
completely surrounded by water and learned to swim at age 3.  Ed’s parents were determined that he would stay involved in swimming activities for both
his enjoyment and their peace of mind.  So at age 6, Ed joined the local YMCA swim club and began competing on their swim team.  Ed quickly developed
his talent for swimming and grew to love breaststroke.  He competed all through his childhood for 10 years.  At the young age of 17, Ed’s coaches asked
him to join them and he begin coaching the younger age groups on the team.  Ed discovered his love of coaching! The fulfillment he received developing
his young swimmers and watching their success, empowered Ed to not only continue coaching but to seek higher education in the athletic fields.  Ed
moved to Greensboro, NC in 1999 and sought work in coaching to build his resume.  Ed’s coaching experiences here in Greensboro include teaching
beginner swimmers to the accomplished athlete.  While, Ed’s calm and welcoming demeanor towards beginner swimmers allows him to be a successful young
age swim instructor in the water.  It is his expertise and his experiences as a coach that makes him a superb athletic coach on deck.  Ed is a proud coach
of the summer swim club “Friendly Frogs” here in Greensboro and is very excited to become a team member and coach here at SFSC.  Ed is currently in his
last year at UNCG as an Exercise and Sports Science Major.  Ed’s hobbies include sports, outdoor activities, cooking and working with children.  His best
