One of the most rewarding times she had as a teacher was watching every one of her beginner students swim a lap at the end of the semester one year. That class was made up of international students, many of whom did not speak English or have any prior exposure to water! Since then, Lia has instructed at many area pool facilities in our area, bringing quality instruction to the triad. Lia has also recently achieved one of her goals, to become a lifeguard trainer. She believes that putting safety conscious, responsible, well trained lifeguards into the workforce is the first step to enhancing water safety around the Triad.
