Mrs. Anitra started in 1999 with Swim Fanatics at a summer pool called Henson Farms in Summerfield, NC. She has had a total of 19 wonderful years teaching swimming, some of those places include local YMCA’s, Woodman of the World summer camp in Asheboro, NC, Lifeguarding in Myrtle Beach for two summers, working for Pyramids, Inc. for 7 years and many more! In 2007 Mrs. Anitra incorporated Swim Fanatics and the rest is history! She went to GTCC for her associated degree in Emergency Medical Science and then on the UNCG for Pre-Med Biology. Mrs. Anitra grew up in Columbia, South Carolina and now calls Greensboro home with her husband Mike and two children (a third little swimmer to be expected in early April)! She was once an avid triathlon participant and long-distance swimmer. But now if she is not in the pool singing improve nursery songs, she is enjoying lots of family time, outdoor activities and arts & crafts!

Coach Sasha is going into his sixth year coaching for Swim Fanatics Swim Club! He is the head coach for all teams, specifically the Junior and Senior teams, and overall supervisor of SFSC. Coach Sasha coached swimming at Ithaca high school, LCATS USA Swimming Association, and was an assistant coach at Ithaca college. He currently coaches at Sherwood Swim and Raquet Club, Canterbury School as well as Swim Fanatics! Coach Sasha went to school at Ithaca College in New York where he was an All American swimmer. He went on to get his masters in Health and Physical Education at Cortland. In his free time Coach Sasha likes to watch sports and travel as well as hang out with his wife Christine and their two dogs!

Coach Mary Jean started working for Swim Fanatics in June of 2012 and is the coach of the Freshman team! She has experience coaching for MAC and the YMCA in Chapel Hill and Greensboro. Coach Mary Jean has lived in many different places but calls North Carolina home and attended school at UNC Chapel Hill. She is planning on a career in healthcare in the future. In her free time she likes to run and spend her time volunteering at Moses Cone. Coach Mary Jean is always seen at the pool with a smile on her face!

Junior Varsity (JV) Developmental Team

Coach Jean started coaching and instructing with Swim Fanatics two years ago with time off to study abroad and finish her senior year of college. She has swam competitively in Minnesota, her home state, since she was 8 years old in club and school teams. Coach Jean began her career in the pool working as a swim instructor at Martha Burns Swim School in Minnesota. She attended school at UNCG and received her Bachelor’s in Social Work and hopes to continue to work with youth for the rest of her career. Coach Jean loves to travel and learn about different cultures, she also likes to spend time with her friends when she’s not on the deck!
